Craig AKA Wilson Frisk hails from Bradford, Yorkshire in the north of England. Like many other Dj's Wilson started his musical journey collecting music as a young teenager doing compilations for his friends. In 1994 Wilson started a music fanzine called 'Jackyard Backoff' with his late friend Chris Stephenson which covered the music scene in the north of England. Around 1995 Wilson became involved with a very successful club night called 'Spice' which was his first stint at Dj'ing playing Broken Beat, Acid Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul and jazz. Although Wilson had listened and collected plenty of House music, he didnt become a full on House Dj til around 1998. Since then Wilson has firmly established himself in the House music scene holding down residencies in Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield and been involved with infamous club nights such as Back2Funky, Uno House, Our House, Afro Coalition, Way2Funky, Wallop, GYGO and The House Of Phunk. Currently Wilson is one of the Boombox Stereo residents who play at the mighty BeatHearder Festival and part of the 4Playdjs Collective who play at the Solfest Festival in Cumbria. Recently Wilson has also turned his hand to production and is one half Of The Krate Diggaz along with Rich T who are signed to Disco Filter Records and Black Rain Records, with current releases on Traxsource.com .. Wilson is known for his smooth mixing style, taking you on a musical journey dipping in and out of all genres of House music but keeping it in his Soulful, Funky style that he renowned for! Been into the music scene and Dj'ing for almost 20 years now and have a great love for House Music ranging from Classic US House, Deep, Vocal, Funky & Underground; also appreciating Soul, Disco and Funk. Collecting vinyl started as a hobby when I was very young and this developed into a real passion. Experienced many events around the country such as Soul Heaven, Hard Times, Southport Weekender, The Manor Born and early Shindig events amongst other local gigs. Inspired by some of the best DJ's in the scene that I have had the privilege to see perform such as Masters At Work, Kerri Chandler, Spen & Karizma, Tony Humphries, Frankie Knuckles and Joey Negro to name a few; this built a solid foundation of knowledge on house music and its roots. Sharing my passion for the first time I had to opportunity to play regularly in the early 2000's at Jaks Bar a local club which was a real eye opener to see the way I could make people feel just by playing the music I love. Recently over the last few years my desire to play at gigs had increased and has since seen me spin some beats at various events. Hi and welcome to my world!!! this is the bit where i'm supposed to tell you a bit about myself so here goes........!!! ....i've been a DJ for 20 + years now and i'm lovin every minute! My journey has taken me through many music styles between the early 80's and today. Music has changed so much but it all comes from the respectable Disco sounds!!! My collection of vinyl and CD's is gettin too large to mention but you'll find all sorts in there from classics to soulful/US house to deep latin vibes to bar grooves and most of all.....just plain FUNKY!!! It all started for me at the one and only Hacienda! I stepped in there and never looked back. I was born. I've had many guest spots around manchester...at Plush ampersand in the early days and also at Club North. I have held residencies at club emoporia for Caged and Filthy Gorgeous, the Paradise factory, boat parties, one central along side jon fitz at the lovely brannigans! ", I've done some local radio shows too and once interview jon fitz which was a great experience!! !!!!PURFEKT CIRCLE NITES !!!! I am currently playing for PURFEKT CIRCLE , @ there fabulous venuse across the north west- SSSH! NITE @ GAIA MANCHESTER. MIDNIGHT AFFAIR @ BOLTON BAR BAES. which is blend of deep soulful- latin vibes -afro beats,house nite, What I love to do is to play some 'after hours' 7am sessions.....you know, after the club when you just wanna chill out and listen to some 'mambos' kinda stuff....or on a summer afternoon on a beach maybe??? you know the kind of stuff i'm talking about.... ive now become single and spent some dollar on up date ing my equipment/back in the swing of things DONT DAMPON MY SPIRIT .LOL now using ableton 8.2 .reason 5. protools 10/still finfing my feet with it all and new set of monitors watch this space Ok, so I can go on a bit!! , but now i've finished!!!!!!!! 2 Technics,CDJ's Pioneer 800s,and a Numark DXM06. Oh yea my soul! Maybe one day I'll tell. In late 80's after joining the army, I was stationed in Colorado Springs, CO. It was then that I got into industrial music. Early electronic music was my roots, and then there was House and my whole world changed. I started going to Rock Island night club. Best house music ever!!! And then there were Raves where I rocked out to Breaks and Funky House. Then my life became more enriched when I started to learn how to play records. My first style was House music and after that Break-beat. After a while I got chances to play at Night Clubs from the Springs to Denver. I began organizing parties I was with Go-Girl productions and the my own venue, Phantasy! I got a chance ,at the time, to learn to play Jungle, Drum & Bass, and Down-tempo. These days I dabble in all musical forms. Currently, I'm playing Deep House, Dance-hall and Jungle. The Whole World!
